What is jnMosaic?
jnMosaic is a program to generate mosaics of an image out of other images.
The scene is splitted into a quad tree and the program searches the best fitting image for every leaf of the quadtree, from a given image collection.
Users can adjust the following settings:
- scene image
- source images
- minimum and maximum size of the squares
- maximum color difference within a square
- blend over factor of the scene
- scaling of the mosaic pieces
- maximum random rotation of the mosaic pieces
- scale of the mosaic
- fast or quality scaling

Installation
To install jnMosaic you only have to unzip the jnMosaic.zip.
Double-clicking on jnMosaic_en.bat will start the program in English.
You can also run the German Version by double-clicking on jnMosaic_de.bat.
Windows users can launch the *_win.bat files to start the program without a command line window.
System requirements
I tested the program only on Windows XP but it should work on every operating system with Java-support.
- Java Runtime 1.5 or higher
- 256 MB RAM
- 1 GHz processor
- 50 KB hard disk space ;-)
Language
jnMosaic is available in English and German.
If you want to translate it you should have a look in the language-folder, where you find the English and German translation files. Copy one of these files, translate it and change the first launching argument to the filename of your new translation.
